❤ HEART ❤ Interesting information, Idioms

  ❤ HEART ❤

Last time I came up with "Bloody blog" and I think, guys, you liked it so here I am with another one related blog .. this time.. about HEART ❤.

Without doubt heart is one of the most important organs in human body and your heart beat proves daily that you are alive. Heart is a muscle and to have strong and healthy heart, one should work on it. What can we do for it? Easy - just follow healthy life style. Grab some vegetable and fruit instead of junk food, instead of three cups of coffee, drink three glasses of water (ehm ok one coffee is allowed) and instead of sitting in front of the computer, go outside and move your body!!! Of course, smoking and drinking alcohol are another two factors which influence the quality of our heart in a bad way, so guys think about it properly if it is worth it to spoil your health just because of some bad habbits.

If we go back to the history not so many people in the past died of heart dissease. On the other hand in Egypt were discovered bodies of mummies that were 3000 years old and after checking them, american scientists came to know that they suffered from heart dissease. How come? In their opinion Egyptian food was very fatty, which could have been one of the reasons. In Ancient Greece people were aware of the fact they have heart and well-known philosopher Aristotle mentioned heart as the most important organ in his many studies. In the Middle Age studies about heart got kind of stuck because religion was more dominant. Later many scholars wanted to go for the heart surgery and first unseccesful attempts appeared in 18th century. However, so called "doctors" were scared of cutting the heart because they believed that since heart is still in move - wound can´t be cured. Finally in 1896 German doctor Ludwig Rehn succeeded in his heart surgery and since then medicine got evolved a lot. Nowadays, as you know heart transplantations are being performed and such invention for sure saved, save and will save many lives. I think we should be thankful to all those scientists, doctors who work hard on their studies, surgeries to extend our life.

Let me share now some interesting facts about heart I came across :

Did you know that our heart beats daily 100.000 times?

On the basis of researches – owning a cat can reduce the risk of heart attacks more than a third. (so high time for me to surround myself by three cats to be fully protected :-D)

According to studies – multivitamines increase the risk of heart dissease !

Your left lung is smaller than your right one. Why? There must be more space for your heart.

Eating the dark chocolate every day reduces the risk of heart dissease by one third!

As we all know heart is also a symbol of love and since I am curious, I tried to look up on the internet how old the sign itself is and where it came from. Did you have a clue about it?

Well, if I sum it up - the first form of this symbol was the LEAF of the plant called IVY. These symbols of IVY we can see on the oriental ceramics, which is 4000 years old. Later it was spread to Europe and old Greeks and Romans also used this symbol. In short – green ivy leaf was symbol of love in the acient times. Anyway, the symbol as we know it nowadays started being popular in the Middle Age, especially in the 15th century and was more related to romantic love, we can see it in historical poems and of course green color turned to red one since people knew more about heart, especially how it looks like. Since 19th century people started using the symbol of heart on Valentine´s cards, candy boxes – simply as a symbol of  romantic love. And the last but not least, nowadays we use heart symbol a lot in our text messages so I am sure that all of you know what this symbol means ………..  <3

And now.. high time to study, guys !!! Here are some interesting HEART idioms:

  • Nice blog....Take my heartiest congratulation! And, I want to share, today I took a hearty breakfast.

  • You could really write with a heart, Lucci!  I could see that it was made not only out of your heart but it was made meatier and juicier than the majority of the blogs here.

I am sure that you have also the heart to overlook my undone task of recording in your group, hehehe. (I guess, I haven't started any)  I don't know how to explain my tight schedule at present.  Honestly, I am desperate in posting my recorded voice.  It's just that busyness and work engulf me most of the time.  My free time is very limited.

Nevertheless, I am not giving up.  That one day will come and I will be able to fulfill it sans hindrances.  Don't give me "it's okay" as your reply.  I need your firm cajoling and I rely on that.

Oppsss...time to prepare for school.  Time flies really so swift.

Am I really seeing "corrections" in your tags?
