Does God Really Exist !?

Hello dear friends, how are you doing ? Hope you all are doing well. Before reading the blog, I must mention some points :

  1. Whereas this text is long, and might cause you to be tired, I don't expect you friends to read it and comment on it. It is just for the members who like the thoughtful and theological essays.
  2. The denying comments are not welcome except the ones which have strong scientific reason(s) behind them. Also the comments must be related to the text concepts so please don't come up with a new topic in your comments.
  3. Please without completely reading and understanding the text, don't confirm that in your comments. I will ask you the reason of approving !  ;-)
  4. I have tried to express the subjects smoothly and understandable as much as possible, but perhaps some parts of that will not be understandable for someone because of some heavy philosophical concepts and also because of my lame English language !
  5. Please, please, please, do not start to read with the aim of finding a reason to deny the concepts and just read with the goal of understanding what I am trying to tell you, meaning have a positive attitude.
  6. As I'm too busy these days, maybe I reply your comments late.

Have you ever thought about yourselves and meanwhile encountered to some questions popped up in your mind which are :

  1. Why am I alive and why did I come to this world ?
  2. Was there any world before my current world ? ,,, If so, where did I come from ? ,,, Was I in "inexistence" before this world !? ,,, If I was nothing, how did I come here !? ,,, And who did bring me from nothing to being !? ,,, If not so, where was I ?
  3. Is there any world after this world ? ,,, Where am I going to !?
  4.  Do "I" contain a spirit and a body or I am just a body (just a material) ? ,,, If I am just my body, why I say "my body" !!? ,,, Who is "me" that I assign the "body" to him/her !!? ,,, All of us without any doubt know that we exist (I exist, you exist ...) ,,, Also we know that all of our body cells will change with the new ones after each seven-year ,,,, Now if I do exist and if I am just my body, then "I" will change once a seven-year because my body change completely after each seven-years !!! ,,,, (of course it cannot be right because I know that I have not been changed up to now)  ,,,, Therefore "I" do contain both the body and the spirit,,,, But, who has assembled them together and made me !? ,,, Where is my spirit and why I cannot see that !? ,,, What will happen to my spirit after death !?
  5. Who is God !? ,,, Does he really exist !? ,,, Why the God must be one and infinite  !?

The humans always have been involved with these questions. Actually understanding our existence (knowing ourselves), helps us to find out the God existence. The God existence problem, has been always discussed as an important topic between mankind.

As a matter of fact, imagining the God's nature, for us human beings is impossible. reaching to the knowledge of the God nature depth, is impossible because the God's nature is infinite. As an example, the point in the mathematics is defined as dimensionless element. Also the line, plate and volume in mathematics, are defined as one, two, and three-dimension elements respectively. The less-dimension elements cannot define and understand the higher-dimension elements. That's why we humans (as a being who can just understand the physical three-dimensions material and events), cannot understand the fourth dimension. So it is obvious that we with our limited understanding cannot understand the infinite nature of God.

For better understanding, consider a simple little ant which we have rather many information about itself and its nature and life, but can the ant also understand us (our life, our nature, our moralities, and so forth) !? ,,, Now, let's consider a more limited condition for that and assume the mentioned ant from the first, has been put in (not on) a ball which others are playing football with that. The ant just realizes that it is thrown to this side and other side of the ball without any reason.

How can the ant (inside the ball) understand where it is !? ,,, Or what the ball is !? ,,, What is the football and its rules !? ,,, Who is Messi !?  :-) ,,, How can the ant understand what the Milky-way galaxy is !!!? ,,, How it can understand what the light is !? ,,, It was just an example and I didn't want to compare God with us (God is so great that we are not even a single-cell against him let alone the ant !!). But I just wanted to show you that if we don't realize and know a "being", it doesn't mean that the mentioned being does not exist. He (the God) exists, and he sees all of us, and he knows us better than we. In fact he is nearer to us than we are to ourselves !!

So our thinking, our understanding, and our recognition are limited and unable, regarding the infinite existence above us (God). It is really easy that the ant (in the ball) says that there is nowhere except here (in the ball), and my nature caused me to sit here and then there (to be throw caused by shooting the ball). The ant just understand the movement and it will become normal to it. It also cannot think about the darkness inside the ball !! ,,, because it didn't see and understand the light before, to be able to think about the lake of light !!

But, what can we do when we are not able to understand the nature of God !? ,,, How can we understand at least the truth of his existence !? ,,, In fact although we cannot see him and understand him directly, but we can obviously see effects of the God existence, and those effects can lead us to find out the existence of God. In general, each effect has its own reason. It is a fundamental principle in Philosophy. It means that all the events and effects have their own causes and reasons. No effect is created spontaneously and all effects have their own cause (because when a thing has been created, either it has been created by itself or another one has created it. If it has been created by itself, either when it was a thing, it has created itself which is impossible or when it was nothing it has created itself, which is again impossible ! ,,, Therefore a created thing, MUST have been created by others).

There are several ways to prove the God existence, but the simplest way, is looking at the creatures. As an instance, by looking at the order of universe, from the microscopic view to the macroscopic view, means from the electrons which circle regularly around the atom core in specific layers and orbits ,,, to the planets which circle around the sun in the solar system ,,, to the circling many systems in the milky-way galaxy and so on, we can get that this universe must have a creator, who is the greatest discipliner. Each movement is in need of a stimulus and no discipline can be been unless a discipliner creates that. Every thing without disciplining tends to the instability and turbulence. Even a small room cannot also be arranged by itself let alone the universe.

Another example is looking at the human body which contains a great world of sciences. I get really surprised when I see the masterwork of creation in the human body. Even if someone says that the human body has evolved from a single-cell based on a rule over the time (which I don't believe whatsoever), I will ask who had created that single-cell and that rule !! ,,, If I throw a pen on a paper, can any painting be created !? ,,, So see, all effects have their own reasons and the creatures have a creator.

There are many of such examples, but it needs seeing eyes. After an exactly looking and a deeply thinking, a question may pop in our mind up that "Who and how has made these great creatures  !? ",,, Finally we can realize that it couldn't be created by itself, and surely it must have a creator. It is not bad that someone has doubt in God existence, I myself also had this kinds of doubts and questions several years ago. But we should keep thinking about this matter as much as possible whereas our age is not so long.

As a matter of fact, God is one; He is whom all depend to him; He is who has not given birth, and has not been born, and there is none comparable unto him. Seeking for God, originates from the nature of humans. Even all God-unbelievers (Atheists) naturally, believe in God !! ,,, Do you know why !? ,,, I tell you with an example: suppose an atheist is alone in a boat and has lost his way on the see. Suddenly his boat begins to sink. In this moment, when all hopes are going to be vanished, the light of a hope which is "one can help me" will not disappear. That "one" is God, but he doesn't know that. The other example is when a mother has a sick child near to death and she has been disappointed by all the experts and skillful doctors. She cannot accept and believe that there is no other way. A narrow beam of hope light has still remained in her heart that A one can save my child ! ,,, That "one" is also God, but she doesn't know  :-)

Hope this text was useful to you
Thank you all

  • Dear Mohammad, Peppo is good at parable. Maybe you can explain it in a simpler way. Good explanation! :)

Dear Peppo, I think Mohammad means we should be careful to use any parable related to God. I agree with that. However, I know what you mean. :)

Anyway, have a good weekend, all! ^_^

  • Peppppppoooooo, why should I want so, ha !!?   :-/

  • okay, My mistake.

I was thinking that you might want to see me burn in the hell, do u?

    mean! so mean!!!

  • Whoops, Peppo, what a metaphor !!  :D

See, when you wanna write such sentence, first put yourself in your audience's shoes and see that your sentence, can cause your audience to misunderstand or not.

In the sentence: "but at least I am trying to keep the fire of God burning my soul."

If you check the dictionary, you will see that "keep" has the meanings of "save" and "look after" as well. So your audience might be misunderstood by this meaning : "but at least I am trying to look after (save) my soul from the fire made by God (or from God burning)" ,,, Also as you know in Quran, all the "fire" and "burning" statements are about the God-unbelievers and you cannot find the one related to "faith".

Anyway thank you for clarifying your meaning.

    have a nice time

  • i see, thanks for your information.

but i think you misunderstood my words

"I am trying to keep the fire of God burning my soul."

this is me who trying and the fire of God is 'faith', i just use this kind of parable, burning my soul meant to keep my soul alive or lets say give the light to my soul.

i don't know what made you think so but i didn't refer to fire of hell at all. once again thanks!

  • Dear Peppo

You are always welcome. ,,, by the way, long time no see !

Peppo in fact, God doesn't burn our souls, that's we who burn our souls. See this world has its own rules, which all have been created by God. Some actions have their own effects on our body such as putting our hands near the fire, which make us sense the hotness of fire. It means the effect of our action (putting our hand near fire) is burning by fire. But some actions have their own effects on our spirit (soul) which cannot be sensed by our sensors (eyes, ears, ...), but surely that actions have their effects !! as an instance lying can be a kind of fire for our spirit ! ,,, but we cannot sense it, as you know, our sensors are just able to sense (feel) the physical events and effects.

But it is not unfair because, God has informed us by his prophets about the rules of this world. He has told us that which works, do have bad effects and which works do have good effects on our spirits. Thus we, with our bad and illegal works, may corrupt our spirits however we cannot understand the effects ! (but God through the religion, has informed us about them, so we cannot blame him that why?). But after dying, when the curtains in front of our eyes will go away, as we will come out from material world, then we will find out all the things, we will understand all the effects,  BUT in that time we cannot again return to the world whatsoever !!

As a matter of fact, God loves us, why he should burn us !? ,,, It is we who burn us. You know, one of the name of the Last Day (yawm alqyamah, i.e. the day which our actions in the world will be under account) is Regret Day (yawm alhasrah). In that day, there is regret forboth righteous and non-righteous persons. For non-righteous persons, because of their bad works and surely in that moment, they will be able to realize the effects of their bad works obviously and so they are completely in regret. On the other hand, there is regret for righteous persons as well, because of they are be able to understand the effects of good works on their spirit and they are in regret because of why they didn't do more !!

    Have a nice time.

  • Oh, so you made a blog, Mohammad? I just noticed it, lol. Care to let me comment on it? alright, I take it as yes. Faith inside me is something I have been growing up with. It is formed by many aspects and taking so much times. Sometimes it's up, sometimes it's down. it's rather depend and easily get affected by even a little thing. That's maybe the way to show how weak my faith is, but at least I am trying to keep the fire of God burning my soul.

Your blog is one of good thing that give good effect to my faith, thanks for share this.
