Broken Tire...

What happen if you’re driving in the middle of nowhere and your tire is broken? What would you do? Are you going to call the cops or a car repair service and get it towed? If you have an extra tire & tools in the back of your trunk, are you going to change and fix it? If so, what is the sequence of changing a tire?

Perhaps some of us on EC want to know the sequence of changing the tire. I am one of them. If I can fix it myself, that would save me a couple hundred dollars in my pocket. Some person that has skills of changing a tire might like want to spend green rather than fixing it themselves. Maybe some of you know how to change tires, please share those skills to us 

  • People who don't know about broken tires can get this guide as an informational guide. When I buy a car I get this guide from assignmentgeek because I am a newbie at that time and I need the support and guides.

  • Thanks for the comment gals. Yes some people here that has a full coverage car insurance have a road side assistance included. However, some people may only have liability. I saw a woman here that knows how to change a tire. She keep an extra tire on the back of her jeep. Cops here usually help to put the spare just enough to drive to get to the closest Car repair shop. That right there will save you money instead of calling a tow truck. :)
  • Nice blog, Blesie !
  • Well, in my country people do not call to cops (police) when a tire is damaged. )..Rather they'd call an evacuator or left a vehicle (car) at a roadside and get a tire somewhere.
I, personally, would have repaired it if the tire is still new (has a resource), or buy a new one if repairing wouldn't much help, I mean when it's almost bald. Apart from that, police may stop and amerce for bald tire (very rarely, but may happen).
Apart from that, little number of people here repair tires by themselves, because there must be special tools and knowledge how to do that. I wouldn't say it is costly to repair a tire here, so many people use a help of vulcanizers (a specialist who repair a tire).
  • Blesie, thanks for the helpful tale with pictures! When it happened, my relatives and friends always applied to car repair service. :-)
  • Dear blesie,
