Across the Plains

ACROSS THE PLAINS

Where ever life does take me

I have a place to call my home

I close my eyes and dream a dream

And there my heart does roam

I see me standing on the plains

Gazing out across the land

My family all are by my side

All together we will stand

Looking far out to the mountains

Through the sparsely scattered trees

I see the golden sun does set

I feel the gentle twilight breeze

Many kings will have their kingdoms

Many sailors will have the sea

I belong to this vast land

It’s the only place for me

In life we are given duties

Many times to pay our fee

When it’s done and I must go

It’s on the land that I feel free

As I grow but older

And the years they come and go

I will sit and gaze across the land

In my heart I’ll always know

That my land is my true calling

That my family is part of me

I am a man of his true worth

A man that’s fulfilled his destiny
