A Phubber

A smartphone is something interesting to have.  It is so helpful in communication and learning. Most of people wish to pocess a smartphone to benefit from many different applications. As soon as the net is connected to your device, the world is at your finger tips. You may spend a few days doing good activities, learning and reading news etc. After that you are pulled in with more and more activities such as chatting, making whatsapp status and watching videos. Time flies and you spend ages getting lost in watching video after video. Without realizing that you suffer from FOMO (fear of missing out), you start lowering your head looking at your smartphone, checking that you do not miss out on anything. This infuriating habit is going to make you a phubber who ignores people around him/her because of looking at his/her smartphone. Finally, many of your friends will get hurt by your behavior, looking at your smartphone when they are with you.

  • Hi Bimal,
Your comment is so nice. I enjoyed reading it. Of course, technology that makes us contact with each other is a double-edged sword. So I think we have to teach the next generation how to use it properly. The question now is how to make them use it in a good way?

  • Yes, the subject matter or the content of your blog is a timely issue because phubbing is apparently so common in many societies at present. In the case of youngsters, phubbing is so close to their everyday life; in this modern era, the entire world is well connected by the high technology available, so people are connected to each other by some devices, so people are mostly interested in dealing with the virtual world instead of the real world. I feel that everything around us has got both “pros and cons”. On the other hand, I think that these issues are subjective because some people don’t like to make strong contacts with others in really lively way, so they simply turn to “virtual world”, and I feel that they are happy of it. However, I thank you very much for underlining this particular issue because I believe that we have to discuss these issues sincerely. Good Luck!

Keep writing! Have a great Saturday!

  • Hi Youssef!

Indeed, we need to stop this epidemic. At least there should be awareness of this.
