Hi,

Today, I'll continue learning 7 new words about "beauty".

Hmm, so what adjectives can I use describe a building or to say our feeling towards it?

beautiful, breathtaking, impressive...? what else?

Well,it's time to adopt some new words before I get annoyed with my limited vocabulary :D

Now, when you evaluate a building you can:

A describe it physically

B say how effect it has on you

Look at the adjectives below and decide which category they fit in, A or B.

evocative (1)    overawed (2)  melancholic        thoughtful       ancient         spacious

 humbling (3)        ecstatic (4)  overjoyed  (5)    nostalgic (6)        overwhelmed

dazzling (7)         majestic

  • It's true, MindMeme.

And by keeping enlarging your word source, you have a better chance of coming up with a more precise words :)

  • "Gorgeous" is specific to talking about the beauty of a woman in English.
Women really like to hear that as a compliment when they are dressed-up.
But used in the wrong context, they might feel you are insincere!
Don't call her "Gorgeous" after she just woke up in the morning.

  • The best thing to do when describing beauty is pick just the right word for what you are talking about.
So a good vocabulary of descriptive adjectives is what you want to collect!
