10 days of Thulhijja

10 days of Thulhijja

Today is the first day of the lunar month, Thulhijjah. It corresponds to the twenty-third of August, 2017.  It has ten holy days. They are called the ten days of Thulhijjah. ((By dawn, and the ten nights)) Quraan Karim, Surat Alfajr, verse one and two. These ten nights are the first ten days of the month of Thulhijjah.

Hajj will start on the eighth day of it. It's called the day of irrigation. In the past, this area of Mecca was just a valley with no plantation. pilgrims used to supply water for themselves and their animals, camels, donkeys or cows. Nowadays, the water is in everywhere. They just come to Mecca and stay the night in Mena. The next day, they will proceed for Arafa, the great day of Hajj which is the ninth of Thulhijjah.

We are talking about these holy ten days of Thulhijjah. They are considered the best days. Any work on them is preferable than any other day of the year. That means they are better than the nights of the month of Ramadan.

  • Mshkoora ya sit Sewar. The third part will be about Hajj. I have been writing on it. I will post it today or tomorrow. Thanks for your encouragement.

  •       Wow, really I can't wait the third part!!!! Any way my friend, as Muslims we believe that; Hajj is the fifth principle of Islam. And it is obligatory once in a lifetime for every adult, sane Muslim, who is physically and financially able to perform. Like any other act of worship, Hajj must be preceded with the intention to do it, by saying Labbaik All'lahommah Labbaik, while coming to Makkah.

Once a person enters the state of consecration and puts on the clothes of Ihram, which is a large cloth to cover the body with, he or she mustn't do some things until the end of Hajj such as; cutting or plucking hair from any part of the body, clipping fingernails or toenails, covering the head, for men, but for women it is a must, sexual intercourse and putting perfume.

Finally my friend, I rely on you to explain the performance of Hajj.

On the curtain of the Kaa'ba this verse is carved:

Still and to the very least, I'm pleased with just this verse ...
