Luci's Writing Challenge: Invisible letter.

Many years ago, when i was young, me and my big brother, we spent every summer in the village with our granny.

This is a beautifull place, where i can do everything i want (really everything). In that time we hated this village... because sometimes there was no another kids to play with and we were angry about it...

During that time we were helping our granny with household. That household inclooded many works like: to feed the goats in forest, to make supplies for goats for the winter, scoop up the ground, choop firewood, planting plants and many many another works. There is always some kind of work here in the village. But all this work, except feeding the goats was not usuall and not very important, because granny could do it alone without us.

So everyday we had our free time. In that free time i prefered to do next actions: to play with the ball  (i always had some ball) and also i knew how to stick the ball up; to ride the bicycle; to breed the fire; to make something out of a tree like slingshot or bow.

Once my brother shot and while the arrow was floating i got out from the trees and put my hand at trajectory of arrow and this arrow remained in my hand... she almost got through my hand, but it's ok, to be honest it was cool, first time i hasn't feel the pain, the main issue was to extract the arrow... i have little scar till today...

Sometimes our friends - neighbor kids came there and we were playing together. Don't need to tell you, how interesting it can be for kids to play in forest or around it especially since i know every single meter of the forest. And also every week we was making the trips to town and back.

But time went, years flew over the years, we grew up, and ofcourse we could not be there as much time as before. But during this time all the villagers knew and respect us, and it wasn't my or brother's merit. It was because of our granny, she educated us so that everyone in village was proud of us...

Our granny left this world at 81 years old. And she didn't leave the letter for someone. But she left her soul in everything there in a village...

Everytime when i'm making the step everywhere in my village, i remember "There we did that, and there we did that... Here we mowed the grass to make hay from it . And there she taught me how to properly cut firewood..." To be honest once i cut my leg, but it was funny:) The axe drawn a thin red line at my leg but that was small dumb axe, so i was ok. And now i love to cut the trees because of her teching:) When I hold an axe in my hand, i feel like i am the coolest guy in the world and i can cut everything on half, i feel like that axe is my another hand.

I've just realized that for all this time of being in the village on my body there was almost no place that my grandmother would not treat, because i got injured every day. One time or two or more times she was just watering me with hydrogen peroxide, because it was no reason to lubricate each wound separately, for example when i fell from a bike on a rocks at a speed.

I like to have dirty hands because it means that i changed this world. Always when i do something i do it with pleasure... even dirty job like clean the barn.  I change the world everytime i do something. And that's all because of my granny. And now, when she is no longer here, we read her invisible letter of memories that she left in our hearts...

Yes, Onee-chan ! It is great feeling, i can't explain. And yes, i prefer to cut only trees which are already lying down. I like the nature!

Yes, Baho, we used to call some trees "our secret agent base" and the bigger tree is the better. Even if it's treetop waving from some ColdWind! And you need to hold so hard to not fall down...

great blog roman.  you remind me of my extreem childhood. i only have brother, that's why i know men' games. wherever my brothers went and did something, i would do the same. we used to climb on the trees, play cards, ride, play football with his friends, etc. Such great moments you shared.

Oh how beautiful memories Roman. I really like the way you put it in words.
It also reminds me a lil bit of my own childhood memories, 'cause i spent many summers and weekends going to visit my aunt and cousins who lived in a small and beautiful village (there I hadn't to feed any goat tho, but my uncle had a small flock of sheeps)

I like that probably we didn't realize how nice was that life back then. But now, being grown ups, is when we really appreciate it and feel lucky to have had that "living in the village's experience" :)

Thanks for sharing.
