Thank you everyone for answering the poll, it really helped us to gather our data.   Here's the infographic we made to explain the pros and cons!

Hi ya Larisa,

I agree with you.  One of the things I do is getting the entire class drawing pictures on large flashcards and then, in a different lesson I push the tables to wall and spread these pictures all across the carpet.  I then get the students to stand up and form small teams, handing them the words and ask them to walk around the room to find the matching pictures.

Great fun!

Flashcards help a lot in teaching. They make the lessons more interesting and vivid. It's a good way to memorize letters and sounds, words and grammar much better, because we get 80 % of information with our eyes. Students can work individually, in pairs or groups. Flashcards with pictures or some comic situations is a good tool for speaking and writing. They meet all learning needs. I use them a lot at my lessons especially with children who are very motivated working with flashcards as a kind of game.

Yes. Flashcards really helped me in teaching my kids when they were at their preparatory school. It helped them to read and spell the words correctly.
