I have had the happiness of receiving my first letter from EC’s sweet member, you. You know I wasn’t here for a while, that’s why I asked one of my neighbor’s to keep it till I came. I almost lost my hope in getting it in my hands and reading it. But, thank God now I have…

THE PROMISE

A deep passion for writing fuels my inner desire to seek and learn about the English language. Its beauty and its countless possibilities never fail to amaze me. The demand, the hunger so intense it nudges me to continue reading, writing and trying to make my pieces acceptable-if not perfect. To write stories of real events or even fiction occupies every nook and cranny of my head, reeling for a long time to burst forth, seemingly out of…

Writing Challenge: To Capitalize or Not

Dear Chandna,

I went to Goa last weekend with my family. Goa is located in West India and renowned for its beaches. I was enchanted by its scenic drives.

My family and I reached Margao, headquarters of South Goa, on a sunny day. We hired a car and visited Palolem Beach. This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in all of Goa. It is a natural bay surrounded by lofty headlands on either sides.  Kids had a great time playing in the beach. When it became too hot, we somehow…

Let's remind ourselves

I have suffered from stiff and sore feelings of my neck and arms on account of the inappropriate way of typing.

Just remind ourselves of the proper way as we type. It is such an important subject.

Writing Challenge To Capitalize or Not...... a letter to Muge

Dear Muge (Mommy)

We have not kept in touch for  a long time and you may be wondering what  I am up to . I got a letter from you in Turkey , dated October 15th 2011. Much to my dismay , thanks to the crawling  postal service here in my country , I got it only today!

At that time I was not in Sri Lanka as I was in Australia for my daughter's graduation . I was  fortunate to make it with my husband  and share some  beautiful memories.

We left to Melbourne on October 7th,…
