Modesty is a good state. It is the quality of being not proud or confident about yourself, and moderate in the estimation of one's ability. On the other hand, if someone slaps you, will you give him the other cheek out of modesty? If someone takes your land, will you succumb out of modesty? Are there limits or red lines for shyness or timidity?

Khudaki ke gasam, main tum ku itifag hain. I agree with that. Some people like to use their fist at once. It's the strategy as you said. One of us should adopt a good and peaceful one. My friend, White Knight, we are in a hurry to carry out our things. We don't have any strategy. Thanks for your wise comment.

If someone slaps me without acceptable reasons, of course I will slap him back. There are always red lines for everything and we must make stand against any kind of violence which will lead to torture and brutality if we still keep silence and giving in.

Saya memang setuju dengan anda, Andy. If we do not defend ourselves, others will keep on repeating their violence and brutality. We never keep silent as you said. In some countries, suppose some slabs you, and you go to the authorities complaining. They will bring him and after they prove that you were hit They will tell you to hit him back the same way he had done to you. Thanks Andy.

It's not that complicated. Listen, Nelson Mandela spent most of his life in prison, due to a meaningful political system that at end nobody has won. Yet when he left prison and people were thinking that he could revenge, he simply did things the other way around. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS:

PLEASE LET'S PHILOSOPHIZE ON MANDELA'S

Absolutamente certo, meu amigo Francisco Gouveia. Nelson Mandela was a great leader. When he was out of jail we thought that he was going to take revenge, but amazingly he was profuse and forgiving. I agree with you, my dear good friend. Is it possible to be one of your friends? Thanks for your comment.

You're right, modesty is a good state. Humility is not a virtue of the weak but of the strong one who never look down on anyone just because they have a higher education or holding a senior executive position.

However modesty is different far a way of timidity, modesty doesn't mean that they don't have the actions to prevent the bad things. But they have the different way to solve the matter to avoid offence to the others.

Cam on Teresa! I agree with your nice comment. No one likes to be insulted or humiliated. If some oppression occurs, we should fight it with different means. Remember that guy you saw stealing the bag from that lady. Our duty is to do whatever we can to prevent that. Teresa, one more thing, I hope you accept to be one of my friends, will you?

Everything at the right time. Times of modesty is nothing without the times of immodesty. The secret is the right mixture and for what or whom we are modest or immodest and by what means we repulse.

No one must give the second cheek after he got slapped on the first.
I know, this expression doesn't mean always to get beaten physically. It is also used to express psychically violence.

It isn't modest to give the second cheek ... it is just a sign of missing self-confidence, pride or even missing possibilities to repel it. In the sense of the beating person is it sign of oppressing... it is a sign of contempt. It reminds me mankind's times when people had used to own other people as if they were goods.
It's our good right to defend ourselves. Defense doesn't mean always beating or fighting in a physical way... but we should never be silent and tolerate it.

Feelin danke meine dame, Rose.  We should never be silent when we are attacked or hit. Only coward people who behave like that. As you mentioned, it is not necessary the retaliation be physically but by any mean to show that person that we are able to pay back. By the way, you have given a philosophical comment. One more thing Rose, is it possible to be one of your friends? Thanks.

Thanks Mr. Josef for pressing the like button. I guess you used to like  Sir John Lennon a lot.

Dear Dara,

Modesty and timidity are two concepts that are separated by a thin line. You can take on this side or that side in a distracting moment. Modesty is possitive side, so can you take this side always? even you are insulted? It's up to you if you are true modesty. i mean that a modest man know that how the best way to solve his issue.

"Don't be cocky, don't be flashy, there's always someone better than you"

Ni hao Kitty, wa tongy. I agree with you, Kitty. If someone insults me, I insult him, owing to an eye for an eye. But if I am able to do that and more and I did not use anything like that. That person knows it, then that we call modesty. Let us put it that way, suppose I am strong, brave and that guy is a coward and not strong enough to fight me. Here, we call that modesty.
