Hi all,

Sometimes, I feel so sad to see brotherhood start cracking just because of inheritance. When parents are successful. It means they had learnt how precious a struggle is. But, (1) how do they/you teach their children about that?? Did/Do they/you forget??

What about pride?? I mean...as children, (2) are you proud of your own earnings OR inheritance??

Of course, inheritance will be our property right. But, (3) do we need to be jealous and greedy upon our needy siblings/relatives?? Meanwhile, you see yourself are very well in life.

"Brotherhood starts cracking due to a simple matter....money."

I'm so eager to know what do you people think about this matter. Do you think (4) it is normal? I WOULD SAY NO.

Thank you so much for participating. Wish you a healthy and prosperous life. :)

Terlalu sedih Onee_Chan! Your discussion reminded me of our house which we want to sell and we cannot do it. We are more than fifteen brothers and sisters. Some of us want to sell and the others do not want. The court wants a consensus. It's money. We are being stubborn because of money. The problem is till going on. Nice discussion!

My parents thought me that money which I earned is way to become respectable person.. they also thought me to do my work on the best way, diligent, honest, sincere.. Inheritance is also my right, but i dont pay attention on it, i am happy with my own money..

Hello, Onee-chan

I'd like to give props to you for the great subject you have chosen. That's a widespread problem and probably the reason standing behind it, is human nature. People tend to put money above everything else.

I am not sure parents are the ones to blame. In many cases kids who have been brought up by one and the same parents and in completely equal conditions, become adults with big differences in their personal value system. Somewhere on the road of growing up we form our list of priority and if we let money take first place over there.... well, presumably we won't get along with our siblings for much longer.

Summing up, it always comes to priorities. If people' top priority is family, they won't let money ruin their relations.

Dear Sir Dara,

I'm not a consultant anyway. But, maybe that one (who wants to keep the house) should buy and own that house (sharing his own money to brothers and sisters). FIFTEEN brothers and sisters...WOW!!

Btw, are you proud of your own earnings or inheritance? If inheritance cause a problem, I choose to give away. However, Islam Law is clear.

Thank you for joining the discussion and like. :)

Hi Ella,

Glad to meet you! I DO AGREE with your opinion. These are important points.

I hope this spirit (of you, me, and I think many young people) still remains until tomorrow (many years ahead).

Thank you for participating the discussion and share your precious comment. :)

Hello Emma,

Yeah, people tend to put money above everything else.

NO, I also don't think parents are to blame. Children also grows in social environment.

I do get your opinions. If the priority is family, money will lose. However, how will they have the same opinions when siblings are having their own new family? It's a little difficult to see in reality. There must be someone/people who gives away (surrender). If a family can prioritize their brotherhood, it is very great to see.

Thank you for sharing your view and complimenting my discussion. :)

This is a common denominator surely everywhere. As Emma said, it's in the human nature but it only depends on us how much we want it to be developed by ourselves.
It's so sad how brothers don't speak a word to each other because of this matter but sadly it's a reality.
Actually it's a topic widely spoken here nowadays although for other different reason; the high taxes that have to be paid for inheritances. Some families even can't afford to get their parents belongings due to the tax.

Estanis,

Brothers don't speak a word to each other due to this matter. Yeah, it happens somehow. Why are we sacrificing brotherhood over the money....? :((( People should cogitate more deeply about it.

Tax?? Ohh, I just know about it. I don't know if there's such a rule in my country. Well, I think it will make this case easier. Who affords to pay tax, probably s/he can decide. :D :D *kidding

Thank you for participating in my discussion. :)

Hello Onee!!
What a serious discussion, lol xD
I would like to participate but this is secret between us, ok? Hahaha, just kidding!!!
First, parents only think about their children happiness. It's logical if they seek for money and so on and later inherit those to them. Nothing wrong, it's normal.
Second, if parents have only one kid, it doesn't matter. But if there are many of them, like it or not, problem must arise. Why? Conflict theory in social life, two or more people together will cause a conflict because their heads not contain the same things. There is nothing can we do to stop conflict but we can control it. So if you see people are life peacefully, they are not free from fighting but they only control it well, the same with children when dividing inheritances.
Third, as children we must thank our parents from what they did -regardless they left inheritance or not- just think about it and feel grateful, needless to say we will take care of their goods. Unfortunately some people failed to do this and caused problems you mentioned above.
Thank you^^

Dear Onee! I am proud of my own earning. you bring up a nice discussion here.

I will leave my comments later.
