An idiom, or idiomatic phrase, is a phrase established by usage as having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words, or simply, their meaning is metaphorical and not literal.

These can be hard to learn, so for those familiar with idioms, please share some of your favorite english idioms, and their meanings.
